Handmade Brooms

Henson Broom Shop & General Store is located at the village of Symsonia, Kentucky just outside of Paducah, Kentucky, just minutes from anywhere in the Jackson Purchase.

 

At Henson Broom Shop & General Store you will still find high quality handmade brooms at the areas only fourth generation family broom making business, but much more as well.

 

You can have your picture taken as you set on the porch of the "old neighborhood store" while you have an RC Cola and Moonpie or maybe a bottle Coke with your peanuts! Or maybe you you want to have a Root Beer or cup of Apple Cider as you sit by the stove and play a game of checkers. Well, here is the place to come.

 

But that's  not all!  Other than handmade brooms, we carry other handmade items such as Wreaths, Door Ornaments, seasonal center pieces from "Creations by Barbara,"  and Walking sticks, Corn Silkers and Pot Scrubbers. We even have Henson Broom Shop baseball caps.

Want more? Well, we have that, too.

Amish products such as Honey, Molasses, Hats, Candles, Baskets and Butter. Yes, we mean real Butter from the Amish of Graves and Crittenden County, KY.

 

In season, we have Mums, Pumpkins and Gourds. 

 

But of course we are most famous for our award winning, nationally known handmade brooms. Over 12 different kinds of brooms. Handcrafted brooms like the ones made for the tv show, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman AND for the Martha Stewart Living show.

 

We are now into our fourth generation. Richard Nathan Henson, the great-grandson of the founder, Rollie Newton Henson can be seen working in the store along with his father  (me) , Richard Nelson, as his grandfather (my father) , Rollie Nelson Henson looks on.

 We book tour groups, church groups, school groups and such like by appointments. If you want to just drop by.......well that is ok with us.
