outside of Paducah, Kentucky, just minutes from
anywhere in the Jackson Purchase and Kentucky and Barkley
Lakes and Land Between the Lakes region.

you will still find high quality handmade brooms at the area's only fourth-generation family broom making
business and
our many fine Amish products in our old general store.
You can have your
picture taken as you set on the porch of the "old
general store" while you have an RC Cola and Moonpie or maybe a bottle Coke with your peanuts! Or
maybe you you want to have a Root Beer or
cup of Apple Cider as you sit by the stove and
play a game of checkers. Well, here is the place to come.

Our many Amish products
such as Sorghum, Honey, Jams, Relishes, Butter, Hot
Pepper Jam, Apple Butter, Sweet Potato Butter, Pumpkin
Butter, handmade Amish Hats and Baskets and Soaps....and
our famous Amish made Cashew Crunch candy...so soft you
do not need teeth to eat it! We even have Chocolate as
well as regular and we give you a free taste when you
visit our old general store. and you will want one of

The first Saturday of
November is our very popular annual " A Taste of the
Amish" day"....you get to sample all our many Amish
foods, with beans, cornbread, biscuits, hot cidar and
much, much more.....and its all free! So come and
have fun..... folks it's a fun filled day with music
and more.
But of course we are most
famous for our award winning, nationally known handmade brooms.
Over 12 different kinds of brooms. Handcrafted brooms like the ones
made for the tv show, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, the Martha Stewart Living show, and the ballet "Angels in
the Architecture" performed by the Northern Ballet
Theatre in Leeds, England...and the broadway play,
Disney's "Beauty and the Beast." Our brooms have also been featured in Tadd Myers Photography and “The American Craftsman Project”, Tennessee Crossroads, The HBO series “ Boardwalk Empire”, The Philadelphia Dance Theatre's production of Cinderella, The Conan O'Brien Show and Fiddler on the Roof.
We are now into our fourth
generation. Richard Nathan Henson, the great-grandson of
the founder, Rollie Newton Henson can be seen working in
the store along with his father
(me) , Richard Nelson, as his grandfather (my
father) , Rollie Nelson Henson looks on.
So if you like history, love
the old slower pace of days gone by, or just want to
escape your world for a few moments then you need to
come see us in our world.
We
book tour groups, church groups, school groups and such
like by appointments. If
you want to just drop by.......well that is ok with us.
Feel free to drop in, watch brooms being made, take a
stress reliever and just sit and talk by the fire.
